Description:
Deng Xiaoping transformed China from an isolationist state into an economic power. Today, China’s influence stretches far and wide with a firm grip in the Asia-Pacific. Since, the global financial crisis revealed weaknesses in the Anglo-Saxon model, China’s socialist market economy has become an alternative model for many developing economies. Only time will be able to tell whether China can continue to balance Chinese values with western capitalism as as they seek prestige abroad.
